Augusta Abogados opens office in Brussels

The law firm AUGUSTA ABOGADOS, with offices in Barcelona and Madrid, opens its first foreign office in Brussels.

“The opening of the new office in Brussels is a natural consequence of our well-known strategy of having a strong international presence. Precisely in times like the present one we consider that it is essential to strengthen our European presence, because we are convinced that in the next future many answers and solutions to our clients’ challenges will be obtained at the Community level”, indicates Sergi Giménez, partner of the firm that has led this opening.

The new office, located in the heart of Brussels, is a joint project with the member firms of the IUROPE network, founded 29 years ago and made up of some of the most significant firms in international business law in their respective countries of origin. “The experience gained through frequent collaboration with IUROPE members in complex cross-border transactions and projects allows us to develop innovative strategies for our clients”, says Giménez. “In addition, in the Brussels office we will be supported by Dr. Rudolf Strohmeier, who was until recently Director General of the Inter-institutional Publications Office of the European Union and has more than 35 years of experience in the EU institutions. This enables us to provide much stronger support in matters relating to those aspects”.

Together with the opening of the office, IUROPE and Augusta Abogados have reached an agreement with CONCILIUS Europe, a European leader in the representation of business interests in Community areas. The collaboration will allow the development of broad and multidisciplinary strategies in Community matters, such as the identification and processing of direct aid or issues related to competition law. The significant investments announced by the EU authorities for the coming years, particularly those related to economic recovery, the digitisation of the economy and the promotion of alternative resources and energies, forecast an important increase in consultations related to these issues.
