New European EASA Basic Regulation
The Official Journal of the European Union of 22 August published Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 on common rules in the field of civil aviation (https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=celex:32018R1139).
This Regulation, which will enter into force in mid-September, is of particular importance for civil aviation, because it amends basic European provisions which have been governing the aeronautical industry for quite some time. Given the significance of the new legal framework and the large number of amendments, we will keep reporting on the most relevant ones in future alerts.
