New UAS regulation set to be approved – International Law Office

The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and AESA, are working on the elaboration and approval, within 2021, of a Draft Royal Decree that will complete the new current regulatory framework for unmanned aircraft operations (UAS) following the entry into force of the new European Regulations at the end of last year.

This Draft Royal Decree will update the Spanish legal framework by creating UAS Geographical Zones along with other elements that will add new operational requirements for UAS operators in Spain.

Miquel Campos, lawyer of the Firm’s Aviation Department, analyzes the most relevant aspects of this new regulation.
